Stolen Western Division Championship Stolen SEC Championship shot Stolen National Championship shot Auburn deserves a big penalty for this. Is this breaking news?
OK, you were trying to rationalize it, but the fact that the replay official was a homer makes it a lot tougher to swallow. Although I have an extremely low tolerance for stupidity, I can deal with incompetence better than outright cheating. No one's saying there was a conspiracy. The officials on the field got it right.
Terrible call, yes. But there is no guarantee that LSU scores a TD (would have been their only one of the day) to win the game if given the proper 1st down at the 20-yard-line. Nor is there a guarantee that we beat Florida in a rematch.
BS! Auburn cheated at home the last two times we played there. The only thing that needs to be mentioned about last year's game is that your player intentionally took a cheap shot at Dorsey because he was getting his ass handed to him. This all comes back to one asswipe...Tommy Tubberville!
God bless the fall! Rivalry smack talk rocks! I work with a UGA alum here in Korea. I am going to "Tiger Bait" him to death the week of the game and even harder after LSU beats up on the Dawgs. :milesmic:
I was wayyy more upset with the '04 Auburn game, where they call that penalty on the XP attempt they missed, allowing them to kick the XP again half the distance to the goal. A penalty that was put into place before the season, was never called before our game, was never called after and then was removed from the rules when the season ended. How about that, to have auburn win a game on a penalty that was called once in the history of NCAA football. :angryfire
BB, .... I suspect it's because the replay-equipment operators in the booth aren't considered zebras, they're support staff ...... because the SEC is too damn cheap to invest in the development and training of full-fledged professionals to fill that particular role. Even the training for the primary On-field Officials is significantly less than it should be .... again, it's a budget issue. For all of the advantages that replay has given us as fans, it's still apparent that the weak link is on the human side of the equation ..... and humans are readily prone to mistakes, regardless of which team the offense is against.
