Goes both ways though…We are moving to more of a hurry up offense and we finally had a decent offense going fast paced last year. We have been excellent defending the no huddle spread offenses over the last few years. Teams we have lost to are usually not using a hurry up offense frequently.
Kinda what I was thinking. We beat the king of the hurry up (Oregon) because of our depth, for one thing. Our speed to the edge then was off the chain too and we had a secondary that were like fitted sheets on a bed.
For the most part I agree. Watching Auburn almost win the National Championship because of the hurry up, scares me. We were lucky last year to get them early in the year. We jumped on them in the first half of the game. The second half they were running all over us. Let's face it Auburn would not have been able to beat Alabama and Georgia without the gimmick. I just believe the defense should have a right to substitute in personnel.
They do have that right. Never been an issue. Styles change from era to era and game to game. There are negative consequences for no huddle hurry up offenses too.
He tried to say hurry up offenses are like smoking cigarettes. The dude is a douche of epic proportions.
