You mean like how JR excelled at clock management at the end of the first half in the 05 UT game, which ultimately cost us that game... yeah he was a stud... he got by on pure athletic ability only, dude wasn't even bright enough to put a coherent sentence together.

So who do you want? One of the hand full of coaches who had a good season this year for their lackluster conferences or one of the coaches from the powerhouse teams who did the same or worse as Miles and LSU in weaker conferences?

Hitt was foolish. He should have been pointing out the opponent intentionally delaying the game instead of grabbing him and roughly pulling him away long after the whistle had blown and with the refs standing there watching. There should have been two flags.

While chitty as the call was... if GC had any ability what so ever as an OC... that penalty shouldn't have sealed the loss for us. We played almost 3 qtrs of football with only 3 points... not sufficient with the weapons we have on offense.

What a crazy play. Even if Hitt was merely pointing it out, would these lousy officials have thrown a flag against PSU for delay of game?

That issue notwithstanding, and we can't blame the loss on that play, I'm not sure if anyone has pointed this out -- after the penalty was marked off, the clock started running and it seemed that JJ (and perhaps the coaching staff?) wasn't aware that precious seconds were ticking off the clock at that point. He just doesn't seem to be consistently aware of what's going on... Can that be corrected with coaching?

Definitely a frustrating game to watch...

How does something at the end of the first half cost you the game? You're out of your mind. If that is what your opinion is based on you're missing out.

How bout JR's first ever collegiate game against Oregon State? And the last Capital one bowl we were in? The game at Arizona State right after Katrina? There are many more. Guess you don't remember them..only the losses :dis:

What exactly was he supposed to do while a Penn State player was rolled up with the football with the clock ticking and the moron officials absolutely refusing to call defensive delay of game? While he's pointing, more seconds are ticking off the clock and the officials are just standing around with their thumbs up their rear ends.

i'll say it again: too much blame is being put on JJ. he is NOT a good enough QB to overcome the deficiencies of having crowton as a mentor and coach. he's just an average QB. how do you expect him to improve with the idiot we have calling plays? JJ makes enough good plays to show me that he has a LOT of room to improve. TONS of room. he's not even close to hitting the peak of what he could accomplish if he had a good coach working with him.

First of all, Happy New Year all!

Now...TC, you had 10 post-game observations. I would have thought one would have mentioned Patrick Peterson since you mentioned Hawkins' poor play. You know, to be fair...

Here, I'll do it for you. I'll put it at #11 in case you just couldn't fit it in:

    11. Patrick Peterson sucked today. I love him and I think he's awesome. If allowed to blitz on occasion, etc., I think he'd be feared more than he already is. And I can't wait to see him next year. But he did not have a good game.

Also, y'all can talk about JJ all you want (and he did suck bad in the first half). But he was firing some great passes in there once the rain stopped in the 2nd half. I thought he was terrible in the first half and good in the second. But until we have a running game that doesn't SUCK, it ain't gonna matter who we have at QB. PERIOD. Our running game was awful today. We averaged 1.6 per rush today and that was without a bunch of sacks.

Also, we seemed to be in fine position to possibly do something at the end until we called that play to LaFell that had very little chance at doing anything really good for LSU. You can't blame that on JJ. The sack against Ole Miss - yes! But not that...

I couldn't agree more, that was the most pathetic thing I have ever witnessed on a football field!
