    Not anymore. What your calling catastrophiic coverage would cost about 425/month or 550/month if you have maternity or pregnancy or whatever they call it. I just priced it.

    I think you are pricing high deductible health plans based on that price point. These plans will cover most everything once the 5000 deductible is met. Catastrophic plans generally only cover things that require admission to the hospital. Sometimes these plans carry a large deductible as well.

    okay, I guess I've never heard of that then. I still don't see how you can get a family covered for 200/month even on a "catastrophic plan". Maybe I need to look into that.

    I have BCBS with the USPS, with the postal service paying a high percentage of the premium. This is considered to be part of my salary. Do you think our fearless leader can screw me up here? I'm seriously concerned. Work all your life trying to plan for the future, and something bonehead like this comes up.
