Maybe someone can explain to me why Harry Reid is blaming Republicans on holding up the healthcare bill?
The Republicans can do NOTHING, The Democrats control everything.
It is the Democrats that are holding up the bill.
The Republicans don't have enough votes to stop anything that the Dems are trying to do.
Do the American people really fall for the tactics Harry Reid is using?

A lot of us have been affected already. Willis Knighton provided our insurance for the last several years. I guess they saw the writing on the wall. Louisiana requires a healthcare provider to give a 180 day notice before ending service. WK notified us about three months ago that they will not be providing coverage next year. People that I have spoken with at WK say it is because of the pending (most likely will be approved) legislation. Now we're back with Blue Cross paying about $100 more a month for coverage that isn't as good.

Here's how I understand what's going to happen, or at least, what my boss thinks will happen. Yes, we get to keep our current insurance. But its frozen; the provider can never change any aspect of our policy. So eventually, because the economy will at some point dictate changes, it will no longer be profitable for the provider to insure our small business. When that happens, they will drop us, and the terms of the bill will not allow us to go find a private insuror. We will have to join the public option plan. This is how my boss, a successful business owner for nearly 40 years, understands the plan.

I keep hearing some talk about a 12% tax on income if your health insurance doesn't meet 12% of your income.

For example if you make 100k and don't pay 12k a year in insurace the govt will tax you balance up to 12% to help pay for those that don't have insurance.

I have no idea the truth of this just been hearing it.

And, sadly, he probably understands the plan better than most of the boneheads trying to the pass the legislation.

Our health insurance is really good; I don't want anything about it to change.
