this is why i hate scouts. many claimed maine may not have enough stuff to be a starter. try watching him pitch like once maybe.
I had the sound down, so could someone explain what the call was on that Fly ball? At the very least, it seems like the guy should have been out a 2nd?
the umpires blew it... twice... they called Kotsay's catch a trap (it was). They advanced all of the runners 1 base. Problem is the mets baserunners overlapped, which should have been an out. Plays that are so heavily dictated on baserunning shouldn't be able to be changed.
There are few certainties in life: 1. The 4 seasons 2. Sun rises in the east and sets in the west 3. When the Mets play the Braves, they leave Atlanta with their tails between their legs. Braves may only be 3-3 because of bullpen blunders, but they have gotten 6 straight good starts. You'll win most of 'em if you keep that up. Santana got the loss, but pitched good going 7 innings of 1 run baseball. But he was in no way unhittable. He gave up 7 hits and several hard hit balls were hit right at people, so he was not filthy, although he was very good. SWEEP.
He looked average today, as far as his stuff goes. He got five or six batters out on balls that were hammered. He made Johnson look silly in his first at bat but the Braves looked at ease after that. Still an incredible pitcher.
So what the reaction on the Jordan Schafer suspension from you Braves fans? 50 games for HGH... A lot of people were expecting him to be the opening day center fielder in '09. Maybe he still will be, but this isn't a good sign. Another question: how'd he get caught. If there's no test in place for HGH right now, what did he do?
