soriano is the only one they dont use often because he is coming off injury and the braves are going way out of their way to protect him. they did it in the spring as well. Although Cox will put in his closer in the 9th if tied regardless as many managers do and he did so here. i dont always agree with it but they play the percentages.
I completely agree with bobbo protectinmg him and he should. But he had a low pitch count and was locating. not to mention the bullpen had been used out of control over the series. either way they had a lead before all of that and a chance in the tenth....i guess thats all you can ask for looking at the long run with soriano you are probably right.
managers like coach pulmonary and bobby cox see things long term. I am starting to agree with it as I get older because you see guys break down more and more at the end of the year with increased pitch counts even if thats just one extra inning or out every three days. Id still rather "secure victory" now as les says. soriano was fine and was definitely locating. he has sick stuff. I knew when seattle fell for that stupid trade he would be the braves future closer. (hows horacio ramirez working out for you) joey devine be damned. they traded his grandslam giving up ass anyhow.
Watching the Braves game right now on Fox and five rows up behind the umpire to the left a person has a Purple LSU Hoodie on.:geaux:
If there is a such thing as an important series the 1st weekend of the series, this is it for us Bravos. Has John Maine always been a fire-baller who throws 97 all game? B/c he is now.
can we cut Prado? between last night's errors and his two ****ty plays just now, I'd rather see Johnson at 2b in a wheel chair.
