I talked to friends in Columbia today. They say the stadium is not flooded, classes will resume tomorrow, the town did not lose power but they have a boil water advisory over broken water mains. The game is on as far as they know.

reminds me of the '95 flood in Metairie. i lived in apartments between causeway and the interstate. there was nowhere for the water to go. dont remember destruction though, just wet carpet everywhere. trashed a car i had just bought the week before.

    18" in 24h. someplaces got 28" i think.

It will be played, probably in Columbia but if they can't they have plenty of time to arrange to move it to Baton Rouge. It's only Monday

Charlotte would be a great venue. Never happen, but...

More rain today in the Carolinas. Will Columbia be dried out by Saturday

The field may be dry, but there's no way the city will be. The question is can Columbia handle 90,000 visitors to the stadium with all the damage to the city/county infrastructure?

Many citizens will have other pressing concerns, it will not be a full house. But Columbia is built on hills and the damage is along the river and streams. Other than a few washed out bridges, they are getting around. No widespread power outages in town, I am told. They will play the game, but it may be like our first post Katrina game. Light subdued crowd.

24 to 36 hours is 100% pure bullshit. The SEC needs to intervene and tell Tanner you have 12 hours to make a decision. If you can't, we'll make it for you.
