I believe so... your response assumes the insurrection was caused by trump, and trump alone...

one could argue that the insurrection was a slow build.... spurred by riots in our cities, elected representatives intentionally stoking racial division for political gain, as well as elected officials openly suggesting that political affiliation determined if one could eat a meal , or go to the movies in peace, or sleep at night.... another could argue the media is largely to blame due to the extreme animus displayed by both left and right perspectives.... night, after night, after night.....

at a minimum, a fair minded person would assign percentages of blame to each of those issues when factoring the amount of blame trump deserves.

insofar as the legal challenges are concerned, weren’t the great majority of those thrown out due to ‘standing’? while I’m not an attorney, I’ve been told that’s the equivalent of judicial punting.....

voter fraud, how much is acceptable? the media wants everyone to think the suspected fraud was largely anecdotal and isolated, but when reports of fraud from several states is added together the suspicion of fraud becomes more substantive. investigating beyond the minimum was essential to the nation’s well being, but was refused by partisans...

so I guess the question is baseless to who? depends on the media one consumes, I suspect...

Stacey Plaskett, a Democratic House delegate representing the Virgin Islands, argued that the violent attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6 was not just foreseeable — it was violence that former President Donald Trump "deliberately encouraged."

Plaskett exhibited a video Trump tweeted on Oct. 31, 2020, showing his supporters trying to run a Biden-Harris campaign bus off a highway in Texas. Trump's tweet was accompanied by text that read: "I LOVE TEXAS!"

While the FBI investigated the incident, Trump defended his supporters, calling them patriots and saying they did nothing wrong.

"Engaging in violence for him made them patriots to Donald Trump," Plaskett said.

She also argued that Trump incited the Proud Boys, a group classified as an extremist organization by the FBI.

Plaskett pointed out that Trump refused to condemn the group during a September presidential debate, instead telling them to "stand back and stand by." The Proud Boys adopted that phrase as their new slogan.
