Jack Elway is not exactly a star. I don't think anyone would seriously expect him to compete for a starting job. Chris Simms was a 5-star. Elway is a 2-star. I think people would just see it as an interesting story that he's here.

Honestly though, I expect the kid to walk on at Stanford. Why would this kid need a scholarship?

You couldnt really get a feel for elway tonight because he only threw a total of 15 passes or so and his team lost in the final seconds.

Interesting get for Erickson. Can't blame him for going to the PAC-10 with the offenses they run, and the fact that LSU already has some very good QBs on their roster right now in Lee and RP, and a couple from Texas in 2009 that should be highly recruited that LSU has the inside track on.
