1. I'm sure this has been discussed before, but wtf happened to the Marlins after that WCS title of a few years back?
  2. That's just the Marlins. Every few years ownership goes all out to assemble a championship team. After winning the world series, they trade away all the high salary players and get back to beign mediocre.

  3. dumped every talented veteran they had because it means they have to pay them.

CF Juan Pierre -- traded stolen base freak
2B Luis Castillo -- traded gold glover
1B Carlos Delgado -- traded all star
3B Mike Lowell -- traded all star
C Paul Lo Duca -- traded all star
RF Juan Encarnacion -- FA to cards
SS Alex Gonzalez -- FA to red sox
P Josh Beckett -- traded all star red sox
RP Guillermo Mota --traded to boston initially
    RP Todd Jones--FA to detroit
  4. Just want to mention Braves won last night. I have been waiting to write this for 2 weeks...
  5. They have certainly not looked good on this 10 game homestand. Ho had another good outing last night. He's 2-1 1.64 ERA since coming off of DL.

Smoltz takes the mound tonight, before they go on the road to face the Astros and Marlins.
  6. Break up the Yankees! Wait...injuries did that and they're still on top.
  7. I decided to make a quick run with the family on Sunday to catch the Braves in Houston. Hard to get 4 good tickets together this late, found some behind home plate in upper deck. I know at Turner Field there is not a bad seat in the house the way the stadium is set up. Don't know how it is at MMP. Hope its not like watching ants. I know some of you have been to Minute Maid Park. Any advice on parking, etc?
  8. the Muts have let them hang around...

we WILL be fine... don't worry

On a good note: Ken Ray looks like a legit closer
  9. Definitely...there's almost always street parking available in the 6-8 blocks around MMP. And if that doesn't work, I wouldn't pay more than $5 in an outlying lot. There used to be a lot a block from the stadium (toward the convention center) that was $5, while the neighboring lots were $15 or so...I don't know if it's still like that though.

Just about any seat at MMP has a great view of the field. They're all good, just in different ways. MMP easily one of my favorite parks (that's a whole other discussion!), especially if the roof is open (and it's not 95 degrees outside.) If it's hot or could rain or (insert reason here), the roof will be closed.

Have a great time...and seek out the place that has garlic fries. They're phenomenal.
  10. Thanks NoLimit :thumb:
