By the way, LSU was not the favorites to win the CWS. Oregon State was.
They came up short, but it isn't like it was the best team in the history of LSU baseball -- 2011 was the best LSU football team ever and Les blew it.

whoops, thanks Terry, how soon I forget, BCS combatants were chosen by polls and computer rankings,.. twas good for the SEC, but I really very much disliked that system,.. I guess I won't be truly happy until the playoffs expand to 8 teams.

You might, might, find a instance or two where the BCS didn't do what you it was supposed to do--put to best two teams in the nation against each other. I think it worked well from its inception.

Now, with the playoffs, it's virtually the same thing. There a group that votes using the same computer systems that were used in the BCS era. The only difference is it's now four, instead of two.

Ya know, you could also say the Playoff system has been very good for the SEC as well.
