  6. I just saw it in an artcle last night. It was Chuck Connors, the actor of The Rifleman fame. Connors play with the Celtics from their inaugural season in 1946 and after a few years quit basketball to pitch for the Brooklyn Dodgers and later the Chicago Cubs before going into acting.
