recently i was talkin to some homeez about what i would eat for my last death row meal (natchitoches meat pies, baked mac and cheese, possibly a fried oyster or crwfish poboy) and the only thing i was really certain about was that i wanted a frozen mug of beautiful frostop rootbeer.

frostop root beer = unquestionably my favorite non alcoholic beverage.

Their burgers used to be pretty good but now they suck. The root beer is still great though. I only know of 3 Frostop loccations now. One on Government St downtown, one in LaPlace and one in Thibodaux. Whenever I pass one I always go is side if I have time so that I can drink my root beer in a frosted mug. If you get it to go it comes in a paper cup and dosen't taste quite as good.

Another really great root beer is Abita made by the same people who make the Abita beer. Try some next time you are here or get one of your friends to send you a 6 pack or a case. You'll love it. Also makes a fantastic root ber float when you mix it with Bluebell Homemade vanilla ice cream.

Not sure how I missed this thread but if you are in the Baton Rouge area, take the time to find Leroys in Grosse Tete. The burger will blow your mind. It is well worth the time.

and if you're in grosse tete make sure you DO NOT eat anything at the tiger truck stop diner. toothless meth addicts run the place. i'm convinced that skinny tiger will end up on a plate one day.

I've never given that place one thin dime and I hope they take his abused Tiger away soon.

Definately don't eat the burgers and especially don't eat the boudin balls. You might be tempted because they are the size of baseballs but YUCK!

The truck stop tiger dosen't live in a pad nealy as good as MikeVI and I don't know where Les Miles lives but I for damn sure don't live in a house as big as Nick Saban's on Highland Road but I am certainly not abused. Just like people, not all tigers are economically equal.
