There are TWO Dalton Hilliards. One is a highly regarded RB from Hawaii, and the other is Dalton Hilliard Jr...son of LSU HOFamer. There is also Kenny Hilliard, he is the nephew of Dalton Hilliard of LSU fame.

I am all confused now.

All I know is I watched a sophomore RB named Hilliard dominate my Tarpons this past season. :grin:

:rofl: Punahou School. Same school as Mante Te'o, the top rated WLB in the 2009 class.

I said this about DJ Banks, but I'm not so sure that I was correct. I may have been thinking about a different prospect.

A STAR RUNNING BACK EMERGES
Heading into the 2007 regular season it certainly wasn’t a secret that Houston (Texas) Cy Ridge quarterback Russell Shepard was one of the state’s top emerging young stars.

The reputation of backfield mate Hasan Lipscomb wasn’t so certain.

The 5-10, 190-pound Lipscomb had showed flashes as a sophomore running back for Cy Ridge, but he hadn’t yet tackled a full workload as the team’s primary runner.

After 13 games and more than 200 carries, there’s little doubt that the Rams have two of the state’s elite offensive weapons playing in the same backfield.

“I really didn’t get many carries last year because we were splitting carries between four or five guys. We had a lot of guys that could make plays,” Lipscomb said. “I came into this season and there were two or three of us competing for the carries. I felt like I really had to take that position over and once I had the (starting) spot, I started to feel confident about this season.”

Lipscomb finished the season with 1,625 yards and 26 touchdowns, but the final numbers weren’t enough to satisfy his appetite.

“I had a goal of getting 2,000 yards and I did end up having 2,000 all-purpose yards, I didn’t reach my goal of 2,000 rushing yards,” Lipscomb said. “I think about (not getting 2,000) yards all the time. It will motivate me going into next season.”

As far as recruiting goes, Lipscomb is just getting started in the process, but there is one team that jumps out in his mind.

“If LSU offers, I’d probably verbal,” Lipscomb said. “My focus has always been to get an offer from LSU. If I don’t get an offer from LSU, then I’d open things up. I don’t want to go too far away from home. I want to stay in the Southwest.”
While the Tigers are his favorite, Alabama, Texas, Houston and Iowa are all on the radar.

“I’m really focusing on my grades this year because the first thing that colleges look at after they see your highlight tape is your grades,” Lipscomb said. “I’m also going to run track and I think I can get even faster. I run a 4.39 right now, but I think I can improve. I feel like I have a lot of hard work to do.”
