Coach Miles wasn't just goofing when he said after Saturday night, "If we're #1, Florida must be #2." By the end of the regular season, that will be crystal clear. LSU vs. Florida. December 1st. 3 PM CST. Atlanta, GA.:helmet:
Funny thing..I made the same comment in another post. I think we just witnessed the two best teams in NCAA football play each other Sat night.
I wouldn't take that to the bank just yet. Florida has two losses already, while there are what, three teams ahead of them in the SEC East? Granted, they still have to play South Carolina and Kentucky has to play us, but who does Tennessee have left? I wouldn't be surprised to see them win the rest of their conference schedule. Which would be fine with me. I don't want to play Florida again.
We gotta win six more with a big target on our back before we think about a rematch. However, I would rather play Tenn or SC. All my non-LSU friends have been reaching out to me today telling me what a great game that was Saturday. Of course, I agree but would prefer the SECCG(if we get there) to be a nice easy win!
I never want to see Tebow again. Certainly not this December. Bring on Eric Ainge! I am now a big (Not Fulmer big, but still, big) Vol fan until December.
I think I agree that FL is a much much better team than what they are ranked or will be ranked in the future. BUT part of being a champion is winning games. FL has failed to win twice so I just can't say they deserve an opportunity to be champions when there are other teams who have won all their games.
hmmm....i think i'm leaning with tigerfan23....FLA is not on automatic pilot for the SECCG...they were good saturday night...tebow lives up to the hype (mostly - in fact, the boy is a bit scary)...but you know, it would have been a slightly different game if we had made those 2 field goals (bad Colt David - no bone!). we generally dominated in every statistical aspect of the game except passing yards and kickoff yards. FLA is good, but not necessarily THAT good. we'll see over the next few weeks what happens in the east. i also agree with those who said they'd rather not see FLA again this year. that was a tough game. if we play them again, they will bring it again (and so will we). besides, not that i have doubts, but we still gotta get through the rest of the toughest part of our schedule. it's a great year to be a TigerFan! it's gonna be a fun ride to post season!
If we play Florida again in the SECCG, we'll have Doucet back. Perhaps by then, our other receivers will have learned how to catch and Colt will start punching field goals through (I think he just needs to make a few to gain some confidence). We didn't play all that well Sat. night and still won. Florida was at it's peak performance. I think we could take them again.
Tennessee's great game vs. Georgia was a fluke, an anomaly based purely on emotion. I live in Memphis, and the media and fan-base around here have been rabid dogs on the hunt for Fulmer's job. A loss to Georgia in Knoxville would have ended Phil. Nevertheless, UT will lose at least once more: @MSU, @Bama, vs. USC, vs. Arkansas, vs. Vandy, @ Kentucky. Florida won't lose again. They'll play @ USC for the East on 11/10 and kill them.
Don't count out the visor against his old team. Florida was at it's best against us. If they play this way the rest of the season, I can see them winning. But I doubt they can. They travel to Kentucky and SC.
