gets you premium seats. Sugar Bowl $1000 plus per seat. I guess that speaks volumes about where people are going to see the national championship game. SC fans don't give me the "it's in your backyard" line because we are playing in the Superdome. Last I checked the Rose Bowl is 25 miles from your campus !
you're absolutely right!! Does anyone doubt that if USC had been in the Sugar Bowl the tickets wouldn't have been at $1,000 per? I am not so sure that they travel well--after all, for years the big prize for them was driving down the road to Pasadena, so their fans haven't been used to flying to bowl games. Do they make a good showing at Notre Dame, for instance? The New Orleans hotel and motel owners who were crying at first when they found out that LSU was in the Sugar Bowl are apparently now pleased as punch---I predicted this, but LSU fans from all over the country, with pent-up desire from 45 years of waiting, are going to descend on the town, tickets or not. USC fans haven't had to wait so long, and don't give a damn about the Sugar Bowl venue anyway. I sure wish I could prove my theory here--but proof or not I am positive that LSU will bring more to New Orleans next week than USC would have.
NJ, I agree. We are very appreciative of the big bash in our backyard. SUC is not. This goes to prove that SUC fans...........SUC.
