Has everyone forgotten the philosophy that Nick Saban brought here? It doesnt matter if you win or lose, its how you played the game. right? its the process... when will everyone understand this? Remember when we beat kentucky in 2002? yeah who doesnt... :hihi: But remember the week afterwards? 31-0, Bama wins IN Tiger Stadium. The point of this is, I think LSU might be regressing. Its not about the final product anymore, its about immediate results... Its not about making that tackle right there in front of you to get the safety on 3rd down... its not about catching the ball, THEN running with it... Its not about focus anymore... its not about discipline anymore... unsportsmanlike conduct.... its not about following the system and following what you were taught. Its not about just batting the ball down on 4th down, instead CATCHING the ball, giving Ark a chance to make us fumble it and give them a 1st down.... At first, I was excited about the win, but now im more depressed than ever... like this is setting up for a big letdown... We are playing "Not to lose" football... And if no one else see's this, then I don't know what to say... and YES I am happy we are going to the SEC champ game.. and im VERY proud of what these kids have done throughout the year. but its the little things that were not focusing on anymore... the dropped INT's... the Dropped SURE catches... Where is the focus? The only reason why im "bitching" is that I believe this team is much better than 19-17 against Arkansas... The lack of aggressive playcalling is bothersome as well... LSU is just doing enough to get by with... My point is this: yes we won the game, but look at how we won it? badly... What will LSU learn from this game? hopefully whatever it takes to beat georgia, which is probably what well do. 21-17 or something like that.... theres my rant, and Im sorry if no one can understand truth.... Yes a W = W, but at what cost?
your truth is different then others.........I will leave it at that. and, since you mentioned Saban, he sat on a lead at Auburn last year, played not to lose, and look what happened there.
I wouldnt have a problem, as long as the team put a good product on the field, and played good fundemental football...
yeah...and since Kentucky was mentioned, everyone looks as that game as a highlight.... but think about it, what kind of piss poor gameplay did we have to do in that game for KENTUCKY to be in a position to win the game???? and that was good óle Saban on that sideline at that point.
we have been playing the same the last 2 years.......under two different coaches. some teams just play ugly football, appears we are one of them lately. USC has won ugly for most of the year, and Texas won ugly against a poor Oklahoma State team and an average at best ATM team with a redshirt freshman QB. enjoy yourself...it is a hell of a ride!
im serious... take the miami dolphins this year... saban is trying to instill that philosophy into them... He expected greatness from this LSU team cause that what he saw in them... Ex- 2003 team... You don't think this team could be just as good?
