LSU can't shoot free throws down the stretch. LSU outplayed UConn and deserved to win. It's a good sign though how well this team plays with all the freshmen on this team. If LSU would finally get rid of Brady, we might be a contender.
LSU shot 42% and UConn shot 33% from the field. Don't distort the facts just b/c you hate Brady. They lost this game b/c of FTs.
Just arrived back home from the game and let me just say that this was my first men's basketball game since '01 (the year I moved up here) and if I didn't know any better, I would say that LSU would be a top 15 team. EVERYONE around my wife and I kept "OOOO-ing" and "aahhhhh-ing" at Mitchell and Davis. One guy even admired that we only had one Sr. and one Jr. and the rest were soph. and fresh. There must have been maybe 40 LSU fans there but let me just say that UConn fans are nice....almost too nice! I entered the arena expecting to be trashed-talked, etc. but the MOST I could get out of someone was "Oh, no! Not LSU fans! --Just kidding. Best of luck tonight." ...and the WORST I got was from a 9 year old kid sitting behind us that told me to "take off that hat and sweatshirt and buy a UConn one". I started laughing but the kid's dad told him to appologize to me! ...I was like, "NO! DON'T appologize!!!!!! But, as for the game, I got exactly what I wanted to see: a good, close game with LSU having a chance to win it. After the game, I was upset (Mitchell didn't have to take that forced 3-point shot when all we needed was a 2 to win it) a little and my wife says to me, "I thought you said you would be happy if they played close?" ....I said I was until I realized that we should have won the game and the only lead UConn had was when they scored first to take a 2-0 lead and again at something like 54-53 with 6 minutes left in the 2nd half!
I would love to see a coach K or even Calhoun coach the talent that we have, we would probably be undefeated!! We had the same problem with Dale Brown any other coach would probably have 2 or 3 nat'l championships with the talent he had!
Is there, or has there ever been a coach at LSU that you were happy with(in any sport)?!? Just asking...
Actually a lot of coaches. Like Pokey, Les Miles, saban, skip sue gunter etc... You really think Tiger Dabbs that john brady is a good coach?
There is SOMETHING good to say about BOTH Dale Brown and John Brady: if nothing else, they both have/did well recruiting some really good ball players.
I'll give you that, but we need someone to coach all of this talent. We are losing games that we should win b/c of freethrows I mean that is fundamentals...LSU!
