So I bought a couple of "yard birds" at the little farm auction last weekend. Came to work Monday and was telling some co-workers I'd cleaned some home-grown chickens (one for me and one for my mom) and couldn't wait to cook/eat mine.

Being in a rural area, I was shocked at how many people here had never eaten one and had no idea how much better they taste. It's a very distinct taste.

I started to take some pictures of the process but figured it wouldn't be very appetizing.

Yeah I thought about that but the difference is people don't eat turtle at drive thru's; chicken, they do.

When I was a kid my dad tricked me into eating rabbit by telling me it was "Yard Chicken".

    God, kids are dumb.
