WVU ranked 3rd nationally in defense last year. Even though the Mountaineers kept there DC Jeff Casteel amid the staff turnover, they did not keep much in terms of personnel on defense. They must replace 7 starters. Does this sound familiar?? OREGON... WVU has a good offense and QB. But, with our stingy defense and the fact we will move the ball often and score I see a win going away. As for Shep.. I would like to see him return kickoffs instead of our DB's. Geaux Tigers ! LSU-34, WVU-20.:LSU231::geaux::tigerhead

Wvu is a pass happy team. If our d-backs can play man up on their receivers, we can blitz and break smith's asz. Last year he lined up under the guard.
The key to this game is to pressure smith, causing him to rush throws and create turnovers.
We must continue to mix up our play calling. We passed well aginst moo state. If lee can have an identical output as last game, lsu rolls!

As this started out about the WVA D line I think we will run the ball down their throats like Or & Moo State and their O will have precious little time with the ball.

Why does everyone talk about how great our D is then concede 20+ points? WVA will score twice at best. I give them 10 points. LSU 34-eeers 10

From last year they lost 8 of their 12 leading tacklers(But like LSU, they play a bunch of players every year). Garvin the SS is a good one. Last year we ran for 150 yards, looks to be more of the same. They run a 3-3-5, most call it a stacked D.

On the other side of the ball, the Wr Austin is a good one. Last year Noel Devine rushed for over 1,000 yds., against us they had a total(For the team) of 57 yards on 27 carries and a little over 100 yds. passing. They were held to their lowest output of the year by the Tigers.

I'm not convinced Shep can hang on to the ball on kickoffs, even more so on punt returns. That said, you're right about their defensive turnover. There's a lot to be said about experience.

I was thinking the same thing, I can see giving them 7 in trash play, but I don’t think this will be a blowout.

I see this being a low scoring close game, and that’s the way it needs to be if everybody is hoping for our defense to do what we are asking them. Anything else, and we may be playing into WVU's style too much.

LSU needs to do what LSU does best. Control the LOS, Control the TOP, Control the turnover battle, pound the ball and force three and outs!

LSU football Baby! May be Ugly to the Ignorant, but it’s Beautiful the Brilliant!

Vegas is gotta be out of their minds spotting this team ONLY six points!

It's gotta be because this team is 3-0 and at home!

LSU will roll this week because of all the good reasons posted above ...

And Lee will want to play extra good because JJ may be back next week looking for his old job back ... Watch Lee do even better than last week against WV

I would hope that JJ returning is not an issue at all. But .... I think Lee will do great. I think he tops last weeks performance, 80% completion, no ints, and 2 TDs.

I believe you and I had to correct "someone" for the exact same type of prediction last week when they said Moo U would run for 250 yds........ahem a weak 52 yds was the actual total. I don't know that WVU will even get that much, but they sure as heck will not put up 20+ pts.

As a fan, I agree, 6 points is WACK. LSU has beaten every team they have played by at least 2 touchdowns and that was including 2 road wins against ranked foes, in which we completely DOMINATED

But Vegas, is Vegas, and obviously there is tons of hate and lack of respect for LSU, because people are betting.

You have to remember, College Football fans tune into 100 point, 1200 yard shoot outs, they don’t know sh!t about LSU, because they are boring to watch and don’t make the highlight reels. Tons of people are thinking, “LSU only beat MSU 19 to 6???? Oregon had a bad game week one, if those two played again, Oregon will kill them. I’ll take West Virginia for the upset”

This is a great time to be a Tiger Fan! We are #2 in the country, WE know what this team can do, and week in and week out, we get to hear peoples opinion get turned around when we go out and settle it on the field. Opposing teams coaches, players and fans(some) are not making excuses, they are giving credit. I heard a State fan call in to the radio, he said “I got news for anybody who thinks they are going to beat LSU this year. It aint happening, I have been watching college football for over 50 years, I have NEVER, EVER, seen a defense this good. It’s downright un-fair. I kept looking at the replays to see if they had 12, 13 players o the field”
