Proof that the BCS is doing exactly what it is supposed to do.

Here is what the post said.

Some MORON in the final AP poll voted LSU 3rd

The link at the bottom will take you to the final results for this season's AP poll. As you can see, LSU received 17 first place votes and 1,576 total points. Assuming that you receive 25 pts. for a first place vote, 24 pts. for a second place, 23 pts. for a third place, etc., it is mathematically impossible for a team receiving 17 first place votes to end up with 1,576 total points unless someone gave them a vote below 2nd place.

Here's how it looks like the voting actually breaks down. 65 people voted for the AP poll. We know LSU got 17 first place votes, so...........

    17 first place votes X 25 pts. = 425 pts.

    47 second place votes X 24 pts. = 1,128 pts.

1 third place vote for 23 pts.

    425 + 1,128 + 23 = 1,576 total points......

.....which the link below shows was LSU's final point total.

And to think that there are people like this third-place-voting moron out there who actually have a voice in determining the fate of the national title! Frickin' ridiculus!!! And people talk like the BCS is the only thing that's flawed! These polls need to get their act cleaned up too!

There was an interesting statement on that thread that I hadn't thought of before. OU loses their last 2 games of the season and finish #3. They didn't even drop in the AP poll. These are the guys claiming USC is NC?

Did anyone else notice that we lost votes in the AP poll by beating OU. That is complete horse$hit.

We lost points because the AP poll is determined by biased media voters. The media in pollitics and sports want to determine news, not report it.

The media told us all that Oklahoma was a powerhouse that compared to any team in history. Sadly, they did not realize the overall weakness of this year's Big XII. They failed to realize that OU had no real running game and, thus, a one dimensional offense. Nor did they know that LSU, and not OU, had the nation's best defense. Oklahoma's players won most of the big individual awards due to the fact that the myopic media never sees the big picture. They were intent on selling the "unbeatable Sooners" to America

So, the media hates to be wrong. Thus, they anoint a new traditional program as "clearly the best" team and beat the drum on their behalf. Los Angeles-based USC is their darling now. But, thanks to unbiased computer programs that factor in all the issues that determine who's number one (since we cannot have a playoff due to the money and power structure in place), LSU was not robbed of a National Title they so richly deserved.

It is not the computers' fault that teams who fail to win their conference were not excluded from the BCS title game. The blame goes to the idiot conference commissioners and presidents who did not fix the problem 2 years ago when an underserving Nebraska team went to the Rose Bowl for the BCS title.
