Wow, New Orleans expects over a million people

  1. Wow,

The New Orleans news just reported that New Orleans expects over a million people to come into N.O. for the game and that some tickets to the game are selling on EBAY for over $10,000! The city is also trying to stock up on purple and gold fireworks. This thing is going to be crazy.

Highest priced ticket I see if about $1000 for one. There is someone selling 13 for $20,000

I heard a while ago about somebody asking $14,000 for 6 on the 50 yard line.

    Re: ???

Actually, as far as business goes, the hotels don't want LSU. If it had been USC, the fans would have HAD to have gotten rooms whereas LSU fans don't. Most either live in NO, have friends that do, or can drive back home....

I'm in that line of business so I know that it won't be as bad as they originally thought, but with hotels, it isn't as good as USC going....but screw it...We will make up for it with bar tabs...

1,000,000 people just for the game?? That just doesn't seem right. True it is the "Super Bowl" of college football but does the real Super Bowl attract that many visitors??

1 million seems like a lot, but I know a lot of alumni who are traveling to New Orleans, just to be part of it. I'm extending my Christmas vacation, just so I can stay in town for the week's events and watch the game with my family. Hopefully we can land tickets, but from what I heard today, it is not looking good.

There are tons of tourists in New Orleans just to party on New Years Eve who are not there because of the Sugar Bowl.
