Would things have been different?

Now don't get me wrong, I am proud to give big props to OSU for bringing their "A" game tonight and giving us a game, and I do believe OSU will beat USC, but you'd have a hard time convincing me that this game would have even been close had the monsoon not come in 10 friggin minutes before kickoff and took away our biggest strength, FOOTBALL SPEED!!
I think our biggest fault tonight was not adjusting the gameplan in the first half to fit the field conditions. We were calling plays that required alot of planting and cutting to find holes instead of creating them. Meanwhile OSU were throwing short safe passes.
OSU, you played a hell of a game, but don't get ahead of yourself thinking the SEC is overrated, You outplayed us, ect.

My question to fellow LSU fans, how do you think things would have been different had it stayed dry all game?

More blitzes, quicker blitzes, and Mr. Anderson getting a LOT less time to man those dink and dunk passes.

JV gets a LITTLE more yardage, OSU played a hell of a run D tonight but we didn't have much of a passing game to open it up.

It would have been different, but probably still a lot closer than most of us thought.

I think it would have been different totally but the big difference would have been if Russell stated the game. If you look at a lot of the games today it took the offense till after half time to start clicking. Russell would have had a better second half if he started. We would have won going away

I think their defense with their great cornerbacks allow them to stuff the box to guard against the run, though it seems that their defense is not as complex as LSU's with the blitz packages. The wet field definitely took away LSU's strengths, i.e. JV's runs, and straight up runners like Broussard would have a more difficult time with their strength of run defense.

Again, I think the LSU defense is what kept us in the game (still of the same character as last years', thank God)

I sincerely don't think it would be much of a contest had the field been better.

I don't think it would have been that different. OSU is a good team and came to play, plain and simple.

I don't know how it would have turned out. Maybe we don't drop the pics and pick up some points on D. Maybe the QB plays better, but maybe not. As for OSU, they didn't do much tonight to show me that they will beat USC, but I will be watching that game just to make sure. This was a bad game. The weather contributed to that. I don't think LSU knew what it needed to do throughout much of the game on the offensive side of the ball. Randall was ineffective much of the night. Russell was up and down. On balance, both did what they needed to do to win the game - BARELY. But a W is a W is a W. Guess I am voting for George Bush! ;)

It's the whole W thingy, man. I have seen the light tonight with the whole concept of W. A W is a W is a W. How can you go wrong? :D
