Worst - Miss St. - We win big here regardless Vandy - as hard as it is to say... their Oline and QB are doing well... and they have a decent running game to boot... possible L UF - Spurrier... i mean Urban Meyers calls off the dogs at halftime and they win big over us. big L Auburn - Close game at the Valley, but i think we still take it because of Cox's new QB jitters UNT - W ApSt. - W Bama - at thier house this year and with Croyle healthy and looking good... possible L Ole Miss - W but they could pull one outa there ass like they do sometimes... W Arkansas - W for now, but we could be so tired and beat up by the end of this stretch that we slip up.. W i see 1 more loss, and alot of possible losses and if Bama beats us then they will probably take the West and meet UF for the SECCG. This puts us most likely in the Cotton against aTm or Nebraska. Best case, is we go undefeated the rest of the season and go to the Rose or Sugar Bowl.
that's all immaterial to me currently. the true state of LSU football and recruiting bothers me greatly. steady decline can be expected across the board. we took one huge step backwards last night. might be time we take a long look at skip bertman.
Worst case: We lose to Florida and 'Bama and finish 2nd in the West and either get a Cotton Bowl bid, or Peach Bowl. Best case: We win out (not likely unless our coaching staff starts realizing that adjustments need to be made at halftime), win the West and either play in the Sugar or Capital One again. Right now, I don't see us playing in the Rose Bowl. If we do. Great! But there are still WAY too many question marks about this coaching staff that still need to be addressed for me to even consider a Rose Bowl.
We won't play in the CapOne again, they don't like to take schools two years in a row. Unless somehow we get a rematch with iowa, and then that would be a grudge match so....
Why Skip? Did Skip call a vanilla gameplan? Yes, Skip hired Miles. So what? Face it, until the season started, we were all looking at the "positives" Miles had done (RP on signing day, a coaching staff that the national media raved about, 13 early commitments from 4-star player after 4-star player....) You didn't have a worry until Sam Keller's 461 yard passing night. The way I see it, Skip is like the rest of us: Fooled by a coach who comes across as "likeable" and gives you all the world before the games are played, but once the ball is kicked off, it's obvious he's "faked" his way here. (You know, like the saying, "Fake it till you make it"???
Can anyone else imagine Matt Mauch as our QB last night.... with that recieving corp and Zinger at TE with Addai ( a back that can catch) he would be lethal.
again, it doesn't matter WHO the QB was. The play calls to GET the ball to our receiving corp or more to Addai were NEVER called! Only 3 pass attempts greater than 20 yards were called last night: 1. Flee-flicker to Buster Davis 2. Zinger's catch 3. Hail Mary So can I imagine Matt Mauch at QB? NO! Because he wouldn't have only done the same vanilla sh*t that Russell did last night because THAT'S what was asked to be done by Miles and Fisher.
