When will it happen, will it happen, or is it happening? Frankly I think we are on the edge of a possible WWIII. Granted, not the kind of World War of the past but for these times, i'd say, if Iran started fighting side by side with Hizbollah, I'd say world war would break out. What do you think.
Let's change the definition to be the next war involving many countries physically fighting with firepower, which would be considered a world war. That being the case, I could see N. Korea attacking S. Korea, the US getting involved, and then China etc.
Pakistan and India are also very likely to get into a nuclear squabble that could draw everybody into it.
do you think the war in the middle east will, i don't another word, but encourage india and pakistan to go to war? I never thought about it but, maybe.
I don't think they'll need any encouragement, but if they do, I doubt squabbles with Israel would do it. They seem pretty well-focused on each other (in the Kashmir region, specifically.) Sure, the rest of the Pakis seem to hate us since we don't like getting attacked by their people.
I made the mistake at work the other day of saying I felt sorry for Mousharif because he is probably a good guy, but he can't do anything because he'd quickly be overthrown. And I said this in front of an Indian. Do not express any empathy for Pakistanis with an Indian around. Probably vice versa too.
You have to understand what a true world war entails. It is far more involved than a conflict simply occuring on a global scale. If that were the only criteria for a conflict being a world war, then we would be talking about World War VIII. A real world war, such as World Wars I and II, involves a nation dedicating its entire resources (money, manpower and material) to the war effort. Such an effort involves rationing, a military draft and other measures. The current conflict in the Middle East does not even approach a world war.
