Western Illinois @ Colgate 12:00 pm (West. Ill. - We don't get any credit in computer polls because they are I-AA, but it still looks a little better to the human voters if they win) Notre Dame @ Syracuse ABC 1:00 pm (Syracuse) Oregon State @ Southern California ABC 4:30 pm (OSU) Kansas State @ Oklahoma ABC 8:00 pm (Oklahoma) Boise State @ Hawaii ESPN2 11:35 pm (Boise State)
Question: Do we need OU to win? This may have been discussed but I missed it. If OU lost, would they still be 1 or 2?
OU losing screws it all up for LSU. What could happen is USC could be voted as #1 in either AP or Coaches poll, and LSU stay #3 in both. OU will finish #1 in all 7 computer polls, even with a loss, that's how far ahead they are. If OU is voted #1 in both AP and Coaches, then there is no effect whatsoever. Why chance it, let OU go ahead and trounce Kansas State. TigerFan, you need to read the original post in my thread "LSU vs. USC for #2 in the BCS...." Not sure how you missed it.
From a conference standpoint, we also want OU to win because if K State wins and goes to a BCS game, the SEC pretty much has no shot to get 2 teams in the BCS, which isn't looking all that likely anyway. If we get 2 in, that means more $$$ for all 12 schools.
