Will the men's team draw that many in TOTAL ACTUAL ATTENDANCE over any two game home stretch this year? I don't think they will...and is there any larger indictment of the state of LSU Basketball than this?
Nice to see that many fans turn out. I was hoping for a great turnout like that. Given the Lady Tigers' potential and talent, there's really no reason why they can't ave. attendance figures between 8-10K for all home games. UConn's women's team does it (in fact, their games are almost always sold out). The Lady Vols, if I'm not mistaken, sell out more so that not as well. Before I knew it, *WHAM!* LSU's womens teams have REALLY risen to the forefront of the NCAA's!!!! Softball WCWS appearance. National titles in track. Final 4 appearances and #1 rankings for the Lady Tigers' basketball team. Man! They're really putting together some strong teams!!!!
It's just as much an indictment to the fever and excitement of this fantastic women's team at LSU. They really have what it takes to bring home a championship.
Which is to say the men don't, islstl... I don't care if they've been unbeaten for three years in a row, won three straight national titles, and play either Tennessee or UConn every single homegame...They shouldn't ever outdraw what was once a proud men's program... Period.
The Lady Techsters out-drew their men. :thumb: Seriously though, I know what you mean, TE. Our men's team should still be drawing the around the same amount of support now as they did during the "glory years" of Shaq and Chris Jackson. I guess it's just an example of how we're truely a "football school", because even during the Hallman years, and the final few seasons under DiNardo, we were still packing Tiger Stadium on Saturday nights just like we do now.
