It's people like you that give fine Christian folks a bad name. There are people out there who truly practice their faith and their day to day lives center more on following the teachings of Jesus Christ, not peddling Old Testament laws that fit their political agenda. You obviously have no idea what Judeo-Christian values really are. You think that if you are against abortion, favor displaying the ten commandments, oppose gay marriage and want a police officer outside every bathroom door to check genitalia to ensure that no one is going to the wrong room.......that makes you a Christian. It is this very thinking that has led characters like you to support Roy Moore and Donald Trump because you've bastardized true faith with political tag lines and compromised the very characteristics that epitomize Christianity like forgiveness, humility, generosity, kindness and putting the needs of others above your own. You sit back in your chair and take pot shots at even those who agree with your point of view if they don't display an adequate amount of animus for progressives and liberals. You and people like you are the problem with this country. And make no mistake there are folks on my side of the political aisle who are no different and I have an equal amount of disdain for them and their ignorance. We have ass holes on both sides who are taking up for sexual assaulters and child molesters. Think about that for a minute. Nancy Pelosi went on MTP this past Sunday and tried to excuse the behavior of John Conyers and that is no different than Trump saying, "he has denied the accusations." It's despicable and I'm tired of watching politicians who lack any moral fiber making excuses for criminals and perverts, regardless of their fucking party. You should be ashamed of yourself. I'm sure you'll respond with a meme or gif because that's what you do.
the prisons are filled with innocent people. stop shilling or I am going to start calling you a sexual predator. if you enable it, you are no better than those who actually perpetrate it.
I laugh when I hear Judeo-Christian. Some of those values are stoning bad children to death. Or, how about Joshua and his Hebrew followers killing all of the people in Jericho and Ai....man, woman and child all living things put to the sword, well except the hooker and her family that let them in of course. Boy there's some great values. How about sacrificing goats? That's a Judeo Christian value. I mean I could literally do this shit all day. And damn you hit the nail on the head with that post man.
Another thing about Judeo Christian that term, Hebrews have more in common with Arabs than they do with us. Abraham was a Bedouin Tribesman that was going to murder his son because some voice in his head told him to. He creates what is called the Covenant with the voice in his head, who he says is Yaweh, which was actually just a name of another god he switched from Yahoo. The Hebrews or Israelites do the whole exodus thing, kill countless Cannanites men women and children, they keep worshiping their idols while pretending to be monotheistic, Saul comes along, he isn't good enough, then David who was a male whore and a ruthless killer, then Solomon, the Temple is built and here come the Assyrians, temple is sacked and these Israelites (who were probably just Cannanites all along) are taken to Ashur, then Babylon. And we all know the story from there with Daniel and the hand and Belshazzar, number number weight division. All of these peoples during this time all look alike except for maybe their clothes and tattoos, and markings. Gematria was even stolen from the Assyrian/Babylonians. Point is our beliefs aren't Judeo-Christian. People live on earth, and we learn and we adapt. We take beliefs and practices from tradition and the trials and tribulations of others. Just because some of us believe in the Hebrew fairy tale instead of Gilgamesh, Beuwolf, or The Kalevala doesn't make it any more true than any of those fairy tales. We have adopted Native American, South American, Muslim, Judiasm, and Christian beliefs and have adapted them to fit our ideals and beliefs today, we are a product of evolution throughout history and are a mix mash of all different cultures, and beliefs.
@LaSalleAve Judeo-Christian is new testament, not old testament. It means values that were transferred to the Christian faith that they shared with the Jewish faith. So show me where a Christian value means to stone a child or kill a goat. Here is the definition: of or relating to the religious writings, beliefs, values, or traditions held in common by Judaism and Christianity. Origin of Judeo-Christian.
Well said but the term Judeo-Christian has come to mean the set of values and work ethic that Western Christians and Jews both ascribe to today. Whatever it might have meant in the past the semantics of the words have ceased to have the connotation of child stoners and goat sacrifices.
Didn't Jesus say something about abiding by the Torah? And I would say that we have more in common with the Greeks of Athens than we do with Christians from Judah. 10 commandments is Old Testament too, so is all the anti gay shit, you can't just say well, Leviticus says gays are bad, we will keep that one but let's not stone bad kids.
