They should definitely be thinking about it. I think every BCS conference (and probably every 1-A football conference) would like to be at 12 and have a title game. The Pac-10 is fighting any changes to the current system but it is only a matter of time before the cold reality of modern-day college athletics and the demands of their fans make them go with the flow.

Everyone seems to think the PAC-10 will try to raid the Big 12 and take Colorado or raid the Mountain West for BYU and Utah. The Pac-10 is NOT going that far inland folks; they will stay a West Coast league. If I were the Pac-10, I would take Hawaii and UNLV to get to 12.

If the Big-10 (11) can talk to the Pope and get Notre Dame to sign up then the Puss-10 will be the odd man out and forced to fall in line. I think you are right in saying it's only a matter of time.

I think they must split the PAC and have a title game like the rest. Hawaii and UNLV would be par for the course for the PAC. CUSA is stronger than the PAC 1.

That article has nothing to do with the Pac-10. Futhermore, I've heard absolutely nothing about anyone in the Pac-10 being even remotely interested in expanding to 12 teams. (Don't just take my word for it. Check it out yourself here.)

Where is Colorado being mentioned? Why on earth would they leave the Big XII, which I think is right behind the SEC in terms of power and quality. The Pac 10 would be a sizeable step down for Colorado.

All that being said, the pickings would be kind of slim for a Pac-12. BYU is okay, though they trade more these days on glory days long gone than actual results. You could say BYU and Utah and, yeah, they're both decent to good mid-major teams, but nobody would look at a Pac-12 with those two teams and say that the conference is now more competitive in football.

Tejas, the article was not posted as a PAC 10 article, but to show changes taken place in other conferences. I asked, "will the PAC 10 be next", meaning a conference title game. I just chimed in when other posters mentioned possible additional teams.

There was a thread on WeAreSC.com about two months ago about PAC-10 expansion. Whether folks think so now or not, I think all of the BCS conferences will eventually expand to 12 teams with championship games. It's not a playoff, but it's a step in that direction.

The PAC 10 would probably favor Utah and BYU as they seem to have 2 from every state except for CA. Don't know if they will ever do it but the Big 11 was leaning that way when they had discussions with Notre Dame and maybe, just maybe the Big 11 and Pac 10 will do something in the near future.
