There is no Big 10 or Pac-10 Championship Game. So if LSU, USC, and OSU wun out, USC and OSU will be 11-1 and LSU will be 12-1. How will our 12th win affect us in the BCS?

I think it iwll help us due to our SOS and the fact we had a 1-AA team on the schedule this year.

If OSU wins, they are a lock for the Sugar...

If Michigan wins, we'll have a chance of catching USC if all the cards fall our way. The SECCG would definately help our SOS ... but I think we'll need some of USC's opponents to lose, like Oregon State and Wash State. Florida beating FSU would also help.

I know it will help our SOS. What I am wondering is if the number of wins is a big factor in the computer polls. We will have 12 wins. They will have 11. (Hopefully OSU will have 10)

How does the Western Illionois win count? Do we get anything at all for the W or is it like it that game doesn't exist?

Not really. That game is valued in the Sagarin and other computer poll rankings, because those polls rate ALL Division I teams, not just 1-A. And Western Illinois is a Top Five 1-AA team that is actually rated higher than at least 30 or so 1-A teams.

But in other computer polls, where only Division 1-A schools are factored, they don't count.

And as far as strength of schedule goes, it's factored just like a 1-A school, which means it stinks, since they've only played one 1-A school (LSU) and one Top Ten 1-AA school (Western Kentucky). So they do drag us down quite a bit. If the BCS just pretended the game never happened, that would actually HELP US.

Regardless, if Ohio State loses, and we leapfrog USC by winning the SEC Championship Game, look for the Pac-10 to just go ahead and add two schools and go to a two division championship format in the next few years, regardless of what the Big Ten does.

I think it should help us, but this is one of the reasons the PAC-10 and Big 10 have a slight advantage over BCS conferences with title games. An SEC team could go through the entire season with only 1 loss, lose the SEC title game and be left out of the BCS bowl games, while a 1, 2, or 3 loss PAC-10 or Big 10 team could play for a BCS bowl game.

But, like the playoff supporters say . . . if you can't win the games like these, you don't deserves to be there, no matter your record or good season.

That said, I do think the SEC title game will be a factor for the Tigers. If we can win these final two games and SEC title game we can jump over USC. Ohio St is another matter all together. If I wasn't an LSU alum, I think I would support a 1 loss Ohio St team playing in the Sugar. But since I am, I think the Tigers should get the nod over Ohio St.

I think that to have a BCS bid you must have championship game.
