Will the BCS Championship Game have 2 teams from the SEC within the next 5 years?

I would say this year was too much to expect with a 2 loss team getting in the way we did. After this year I believe anything is possible. Georgia seems to be the team who is good just about every year but can't get the brakes when needed to make it in. There seems to always be a team like that.

Hey - I didn't say it was impossible! I'm on board! Nothing would make my SEC-homer arse happier! Sending positive vibes!

Very slim chance of it happening, but here's the scenario that I think could make it happen:

#1 12-0 LSU loses to #3 11-1 UF 24-21 in the SECCG, both are 12-1
#2 11-1 OU loses Big 12 Champ game, now 11-2
#4 11-1 Big Ten Champs have 2 wins vs team from Top 25
    #5 10-2 USCw Pac 10 Champs
#6 10-2 ACC team wins Conf Champ, now 11-2

    Final BCS Standings show:

Coaches and Harris Poll are all really close but the computers make the difference:

    #1 Florida 12-1
    #2 LSU 12-1
    #3 tOSU 11-1
    #4 USCw 10-2
    #5 ACC team 11-2

I doubt this would work. If the Buckeyes only have 1 loss, they're in over us, especially now that we've added App State. The SECCG loss will propel us south just enough to give the Bucks the nod.

Only hope is for OSU to have two losses.

I wasn't sugessting this scenario for next year only. You could take any SEC team at 12-0 and ranked #1 playing in the SECCG vs a 1 Loss team ranked in the top 3 or 4 and the scenario COULD happen.

It's a long shot, but not impossible.

I'd like to think that you're right, but imo, the buckeyes will have to win convincingly at the colliseum, and be undefeated to barely scrape by even a 1 loss SEC team to get into the NC again. The SEC will have at least a one game bias vs. tOSU as far as this is concerned for several years, fair or not. there's no way if the buckeyes lose a game they get back, even if it's a nailbiter against USC.

As for the topic of this thread, While i agree if the SEC has the two best teams they should be allowed to play for the NC, with the conference championship, i just don't see it happening. As for all of the talk about UF this year, i know they got some DB help for next year, but i doubt a bunch of freshman, regardless of talent, will be able to shore up that secondary (atrocious against Chad Henne--a solid, but not great QB)...off topic, but just a thought when we're considering scenarios for next year.
