1. There was some talk of this a few years back with Ohio State and Michigan but did not materialize. With the SEC continuing to strengthen what are the chances of 2 teams coming from the SEC to play for the BCSNC? Of course if there was an 8 team playoff with 2 at large selections this could set this up. It's very possible that Florida, LSU and Georgia could all 3 be BCSCG worthy next season. How would the present system handle the best 3 teams in the country coming from the SEC?
  2. :dis: Don't see that happening. Would have to have teams ranked 1 and 2 before the SEC championship, with one of those teams not having won their diviosn. Of those first two teams, the one that did win their dividion would have to win the championship as well in order to have 2 SEC teams in the BCS Championship Game.
  3. I don't think so. A lot of the voters wouldn't let it happen because on of the teams most likely didn't even win their division, and obviously not the conference.

However, a handful of teams losing on the last week can make it happen, but the odds are really small.
  4. What motivated me to post this is the discussion of LSU being one of the best teams in the country last year without winning their division and Georgia being one of the best teams this year in the same boat. If Georgia, LSU and Florida steamed rolled everyone else and we all had very close games between us with USC and Ohio State losing twice to bad teams and no one else having an undefeated season I wonder what would happen? I'm sure it would generated even more debate for a playoff system. I think next year would be unlikely since we all three play each other then add the Conference Championship game. The SEC is becoming a beast with at least 3 or more teams competing for the BCS National Championship. I don't know of any other conference that can say this.
  5. Not being bias to the Purple & Gold is a rare flaw usually not found on this board.
  6. I don't see we would ever get a situation like that from a conference that has a Conference Championship game.

It is possible from a Big10 or Pac10 conference but never from the SEC.
  7. I don't want to say it'll never happen, but the odds are pretty slim. The last 2 years, the voters have spoken pretty loudly that they don't want a team that didn't win their conference. Michigan got jumped twice in 2 weeks of the '06 season to ensure they didn't go. Then last year, UGA got leapfrogged to make sure they didn't make it.

It would take some unigue set of circumstances. Like Let's say we run the table, UGA loses only to us, and UT loses only to UGA. We then beat UGA in the SEC CG, leaving 11-1 UT sitting at #2 (almost EVERY other team in country will need 2 losses to keep them at 2 though).
  8. It wont happen because of the national outrage and money contracts......but I think it should happen
  9. The only way I see it happening is if 3 teams, 2 of them from one division, only have one loss. Everyone else in the nation has 2 losses. Team A and Team B play each other in the SECCG. The winner goes to the BCSNCG and Team C, the only other one loss team, gets an at large bid to the game based on a better record then any other team in the nation. You follow all that?

    Likely, hell no. Possible? Yes.
  10. Highly improbable. However, if the SEC Champ were undefeated, AND another SEC team only had one loss, AND all other conference champs and independents had at least two losses, one of which was to a team they should've beaten easily, THEN I think we're close.

    Too much to expect.
