this would make a nice poll. and if it was a poll i would answer yes, saban will succeed big and he will do it quickly.

I think he has what it takes but there is more to it in the NFL these days. Salary cap, free agency and the draft make it a little more complicated than just cherry picking recruits. I think he knows football but only time will tell how he does in the NFL.

    I do agree.
JJ also said he thought NS would succeed at Miami, he also said they have a good defense and manage the cap very well.

People forget just how good the Dolphins are, this isn't a normal 3-10 team or whatever their record is.
Their team was built around Ricky Williams for starters and their QB's are not
as good as some others in the league.

If NS can get a good QB this team could go along way next season, matter of fact i'll go out on a limb and say the Dolphins could easily turn around and be 1 of the top 5 teams in the AFC next year.

sweet, i like the sound of that prediction.

hey, the dolphins did just beat the patriots on the grand monday night stage. thats not too bad. i agree with sourdoughman. the dolphins are a qb and some strong OL guys away from being a competitive team.

    Hey,

I'm optimistic, I just so happen to be a Dolphins fan because I grew up watching David
Woodley and Dan Marino QB the Phins, I also grew up in Sebring, Florida for most of my
    early years through 9th grade.

I said they could be a top 5 team, with the defense they have.
Look at some of the teams that won't be able to keep all of their QB's for instance.
The Chargers, The Steelers for instance.
Drew Brees, Phillip Rivers, Ben Roth, Tommy Maddux.
If the Phins can pick up a QB like this, thats scary!

I'm sure theres a few more, as long as Miami can keep their defense in tact, they have
    good wr's and TE's now.
Actually with Nick keeping an eye on their defense it may not matter as much but they
have 2 of the best cb's in the NFL with Madison and Surtain.
This defense has been real good, with Saban? thats scary if u ask me!

If you consider turning around a team that potentially will go 3-13 into a team next season that finishes 8-8 or better a "quick success", I think you're right.

The thing that hurt Miami this year wasn't their defense--which as we all know is Saban's strong point, it was their offense. AJ Feeley isn't a #1 QB. YOu don't have to win with a Pro-Bowl QB either, but they lack a clear-cut #1 RB as well. Just look at the importance of a solid ground game. For YEARS Miami had all-world QB Marino and some very talented WR's, but no running game, and they struggled to advance deep into the playoffs because of it.

Unless Saban can go in there and bring a solid running back and an upgrade at QB to Miami, they'll continue to be 8-8 or 9-7.

I depends on your version of sucess in the current NFL is. I actually think the NS of today does not do well in the NFL. Will he be in the bottom of the house? NO, but I look for him to be slighty above the middle of the pack unless he give up being a control freak. I don't think it's going to be to his advantge in the NFL. It worked in college for a .750 record but the NFL is a different game.

I hope he falls flat on his face but it's because I hate the phins. Always have and prolly always will. Gotta respect that organization though. They had one of the finest teams ever fielded by an NFL team if not THE best.

But it'll come down to X's and O's. I just don't see Saban not doing well unless he hires the wrong assistants.

Nick has all the tools to succeed. My guess it he will be one of the better coaches in the NFL after he takes some lumps in the first year.

My guess is Nick has this team in the playoffs within 2 years and takes them deep into the playoffs by year 4. Sound familiar?
