Is this week an opportunity to rest both Lee and Jefferson at some point and turn the game over to Mettenberger to get some experience? Or do you continue to work Lee and Jeff to gain even more confidence to prepare for the Rebs and the Hogs? I certainly don't wont to lose momentum - and this seems like the perfect game to tighten up any areas of weakness on the offense. This could be a great opportunity for Lee to re-gain any loss of confidence in his passing. But I kinda want to see what Mett can do too?
I would rather see Lee in the game building confidence. I want to see JL and JJ continue the momentum we have built this season. Mett will get his chance soon enough.
I would hope so. I would like to see the first units put up about 35 in the first half and then see Mett in the 2nd half. Running the whole offense, not just handing off. If we're up comfortably at half time, there's no reason not to put him in. WKU is not going to put up a comeback, and you can't argue that JL or JJ "need more snaps." If they're not ready to QB a team in the SECCG or BCSCG by now, an extra series or two against Western Kentucky is not going to get them there.
JJ doesn't need confidence right now. He's on top of the world. Somehow he doesn't realize how inept he is overall. JL does need some confidence but at the end of the day he has to realize IT'S W. KENTUCKY. Even still it could help. Sad we're talking about two 5th year Sr's here. That said, Mett needs SOME kind of PT. I'd hope he gets some game reps and do believe we'll see him. Miles doesn't want to get caught in the same predicament again with not having someone ready next year.
I would like to see us get up a few scores .... and then I'd like to see JLee execute two all pass series down the field. No runs at all. Just pass pass pass. Screens, slants, long passes, mid level passes, the pass routes were he threw the ints, .... just pass, pass, and pass some more. After those two series .. I"d like to see JJ come in and run two more all pass series. After that .. I"d like to see Mett come in.
I would like to see JL start and play long enough to move the ball through the air. Then I would like to see JJ play without a back & forth rotation. Let each get into a rhythm and have several series without looking over their shoulder. If all goes well I would then like to see ZM start gaining experience. Even if he has little to gain it will be nice for the remainder of the offense to be familiar with him as most will also return next year. Regarding next season's QBs...I hope Rivers isn't like his older brother who whined and cried again last night on national tv. :dis:
No need to apologize. Just thought you may have misread me. Either way it goes this weekend, I think we have a bright future. This year with both JL and JJ, next year with Mett.
My hope: 1) JL starts and gets 200 yds and 2 TDs against a defense giving up 236 in the air this year 2) JJ comes in and "practices" the roll-out passes that we needed to do more of against Bama. Gets 80 yds and 1 TD 3) Mett plays the entire 4th quarter and gets 170 yds and two TDs mostly on DEEP PASSES while standing firmly in the pocket. This is a sorely missing component of our Passing Game right now. So 5 TDs and 450 passing yards for the Trio of Tiger QBs would be just what the Dr. ordered in my opinion. GEAUX!
