If this was posted in the Official LSU vs. MSU thread, I'm sorry if this is a repost but I refused to read all 431 of them so what do you guys think about the decision to play Matt Flynn in the 4th quarter rather than Ryan Perrilloux? Was this a hint that RP is going to be redshirted this season? I think that we should redshirt RP and give Russell an entire year to start. If Russell plays well this season we'll know who'll start next year, if Russell struggles we'll see who earns the spot in camp.

ask clair, I hear he's buds with RP....

Unless there is a complete abortion at the qb position, JR is the man and MF is the 2nd string qb. I give JR a B- so far this season. He's looked good vs ASU and MSU, yet he struggled vs TENN, but so did the rest of the players and coaches for that matter.......

As everyone has already pointed out, JR has done well but still needs to throw the ball away.... A couple of those sacks were on him. He tends to hold on to the ball for way too long. At least he's not throwing the ball into triple coverage like our 5th year senior qb did last season....

So I guess technically this was a repost, but I do think that people have had more time to think about it in the last 2 months, especially seeing Flynn play today. I can't believe you remembered that post from two months ago, I can't remember what I posted last week.

    Perrilloux is already 2nd string...

They just don't want to play him this year, so Flynn plays mop-up...

The era begins if Russell goes down... TRUST me

Who's #2 is worthy of discussion, however, I'm glad #1 is becoming a darn good quarterback !

No Way!! Matt Flynn is the #2 QB and will stay that way unless he goes down, then you will see RP.

The number 2 quarterback is the one that goes in second. It works that way everywhere. If they are trying to redshirt Perrilloux, it makes good sense, but he ain't second string if he doesn't play. Meanwhile Flynn is obviously number two. The coach says so and he was the one put into the game.

If Russell goes down I'm sure the contest is on again and RP might take the job foe himself, but right now Flynn is number 2 and Perrilloux is number 3.
