LSU has been described as having one of the deepest & most talented Wide Receiver corps in America. Who do you think will have the most success at LSU? Who will end up being the leading receiver at the end of this season? Who will make the most improvement this season?

I think either Green or Bowe will be our leading receiver for this season.

I think Amp Hill will have the most improvement because he saw very limited action last year & not one catch. I'm not sure if he'll explode onto the scene but I look for good things from him.

I expect Early Doucet to have the best LSU career of them all. In the few times he got the ball last year, he looked electrifying & I think he's capable of alot more. It was only his first year playing WR.

My answer to the first 2 questions is Early Doucet. As far #3 it is a tough one because all these guys are expected to perform. But Early might get this one also. Hopefully XC will emerge this year.

Look out for the 3rd reciever. Bowe and Green will be on the outside. I think this is a mistake with Green. He is to undersized to be an outside WR. Put Bowe, Davis, and Doucet on the outside spots, keep Green in the slot. The slot guy is usually matched up on a nickelback, a safety, or sometimes even a linebacker. Green would eat these guys for supper and ask for seconds. He would also not have to worry about being as physical. Use motion to keep him free, and also the slot is a more versitile spot to run reverses and screens from.

I can't wait to see what Early Doucet can do....Wasn't he ranked the number 3 overall hs player by rivals?

I agree Green is better suited for the slot, but he wasn't lined up wide last year half as much as you think he was and the stats bear that out. He was not used half as much as they intended to use him due to his injury, so we didn't get to see him use all of that talent.

When he does line up on the outside he then becomes a very good option for the WR screen and quick slants which then forces the DB's to come up to the line of scrimmage and opens up all sorts of possibilites. Don't let last year have any bearing on your thoughts about how Green will be used, he was playing on one leg basically and couldn't cut. He was a fabulous weapon in 2003 and I think he wil be again this year.

Nobody sees Xavier Carter having a break out year? I expect him to make some big plays with his speed, but not be used very often for regular plays.

What about Craig "Buster" Davis? Does he get lost on the depth chart? I think he will continue to be solid & probably is our number 3 receiver for this season.

I think the leading receiver will either be Big Body Bowe or Craig Davis. While XC and Doucet probably have more physical upside than Davis, there's something to be said for competent route running and reliable hands. Especially v. the SEC teams. Hence, Bowe and Davis should lead.

Skyler absolutely, positively should primarily be a slot receiver, based on his size and feet. This would bode well for his pro prospects as well, as he will likely be drafted for special teams and slot receiving. COME ON TEXANS or FINS! DRAFT HIM!!

Long term, I agree that Doucet will probably have the most complete career, but it's WAY too soon to tell.

We've been blessed with a remarkable group of receivers, AND they're nice and spaced out by year!

I believe Green will make the most improvements this season. I'm sure he wants to play full speed again after his injury. I think Bowe will lead the team in receptions.

I also think Carter will have a huge season. With the Green on one side and Carter on another, it will be very difficult to defend that much speed. Not to mention if we get a running game going, which we probably will with Broussard and the O-Line, and the defense starts bringing in their safeties, thats when we unleash Carter.

Of course we'll need Russell to get them the ball. If he works hard and plays to his full potential, I believe the offense will be very very tough to stop.
