I wrote personal emails to each of the AP voters whose email addresses were not posted on this site. Before writing these writers, I read several recent and several old articles they had written. The list of unreached voters was about 25 in length, and even though it took several hours, I was able to find their email addresses and write actual emails that at the end, included the arguments for LSU at #2. I have gotten several very positive responses back. When you take the time to write personal notes instead of just mass emails that are nothing more than spam, you really don't deserve a response. Now, all the AP voters have gotten the message. There is no reason to do anymore in the email campaign. The best way to get a message across is to say it and sit down, not beat the audience with your monotonous argument again and again. I will share some of the emails I received later, but here is one response that I think should of particular interest. It is from the voter who writes for the Orange County Register, way over in Southern Cal territory. He writes, "Thank you very much for your kind note and for the thorough argument you presented. I took a good look at it and will again before the weekend. Please be assured that I go into this weekend with an open mind and have made no decisions as to which team will be placed ahead of the other. I will cover USC's game and then watch the SEC title game before I cast my ballot. Thanks again, and I hope you enjoy the weekend's games." Several other emails have been equally positive, but since this comes to us from California, we can know we have made a strong case. Whether or not it will be convincing enough, we shall see (of course, we still have to beat a very tough Georgia team). But now, if you haven't already, please stop emailing. All the voters have been reached.
What's that guys... e-mail address again? Never mind I'll find it myself. Frankly just because he should have already voted LSU #2. What does "keep an open mind" really mean? He ain't votin our way. I'm sendin at least a 100 to this guy alone (real personnal ones).
If you do email him, which I hope you will not because it will do nothing positive at this point, will you please not email him the argument I wrote (the one found at the top of this message board and in most emails sent to the AP so far)? Thanks. ram, I'm told hundreds, if not thousands, of emails were sent. It's been quite a campaign, which has been mentioned in over five newspapers throughout the nation.
I got in touch with a hoard of guys, even some that don't vote. They were all very positive in their responses, because I used about three facts that each pollster might relate to. The facts I used the most was that USC has only played 2 teams in the PAC-10 with a winning record and split them. That arguement went to anyone east of Arizona. I think the emails worked, and were not negatively received. It's pretty exciting to make headlines across the US, and I feel this is probably the best thing we could have done as fans and alum. Any SEC or Big 12 area pollster recieved the any conf. championship game victor arguement. Esp since the SEC and the Big 12 are 2 of the 3 best conferences this year.
