So everyone has been telling me how excited I should be today. And yes I do like Obama personally I think he is an intelligent man, although I strongly disagree with basically every position he has. I understand he is different minded and I dont think he is "stupid". So I ask you for assistance. With that said, I continue to have everyone tell me "How great today is and how I should celebrate" So I asked pretty much everyone of my liberal and Obama friends. Please tell me "Why" I should be excited today. But here is the catch. You cannot use the term, "Bush", "Black or African American", "Hope" or "Change" I want an honest answer why I should feel Safer today from a terrorist threat, or my future providing for my family is better today than yesterday. So far........................ I have had no responses........... Still waiting.......... Till then I will continue to watch the Military channel. There is a great show tonight on the worlds deadliest field rifles.... Sidenote : did anyone miss the comment Obama said today when he said "They told me not to swipe the pen" when he signed his first document. That is racist.....
Celebrate the fact that the United States again had the greatest transfer of power in history. We did it without a bloody coup. And we do it regularly. One of the things that makes us the greatest country that ever existed.
Because today represents everything great about this country. Free speech, free will, freedom of choice. All because of Freedom from the terrorist of the world.
Good, legitimate questions. I think there are a large number of Obama supporters who know very little about the man or his views other than the fact he's half black. They voted for him for a reason and will support him completely regardless of what he does or fails to do. It's just like Jefferson, Nagin, and Morial in New Orleans. Although they know they're all crooks and have robbed them blind, they would still rather have them in office than a Republican. Here are the election totals: Obama: 66,862,039 McCain: 58,319,442 McCain was a weak Republican choice and have to overcome an unpopular Republican president. Obama was never challenged in the media, became a cult hero, and was handed the office without ever having to answer real questions. Even with everything going in Obama's favor and almost everything going against McCain, the election results weren't nearly as far apart as the media tried to convince everyone. If the Democrats and media continue to slam Bush, Republicans, and conservatives instead of "moving on", they will soon the the risk of losing enough base to swing the next election. Hopefully people will grow tired of "it's not our fault" and "it's the Republicans' fault" and hold the Democrats accountable. They have full control. If they can't accomplish anything quickly, then they can blame nobody but their own party.
Booing President and Laura Bush showed that this crowd is no different from those that they deign to seek change from. It was despicable.
Very poor taste and lack of respect by those that booed, however it's hard to say that Bush didn't deserve it. I'd compare it to Dinardo's last couple of years. Fans booed as he drove the LSU football program off a very high cliff at top speed. Bush did very much the same with the United States and had that $hit eating grin on his face the whole time.
Thank you for acknowledging what most thinking people already knew. I hope for America's sake Obama has such a successful term he's elected to another one. That would mean no terrorism and a thriving economy at least. But the fact remains most anyone in the world who wasn't a Republican could have won this election. Obama is a charismatic man who struck the mother load with the timing of his decision to run. He has little to no experience and has yet to articulate his positions in a way that wasn't scripted by his handlers. Good luck Mr. President, may God be with you. You have a lot of responsibility now.
