    Hey, everybody!

My first thread start here after I've been reading quite a bit. I don't understand why so many think Florida doesn't have a chance and those who want Florida to lose. I hope they win, and win by a good margin. It's not unlikely with the way teams come out in Bowls.

Advantages of Florida win for LSU:
    1. SEC Prestige as best conference, with Florida and LSU as the two best.
    2. Sets up LSU for a big chance in 2007 by beating Florida at home and later.
    3. Shows everyone that an SEC Champ is the best team in America.
    4. A 2007 SEC Champ LSU has a better shot at a Nat'l Championship game.

Disadvantages of Florida loss for LSU:
    1. Does not validate the SEC as the Best Conference
    2. Florida recruiting boost
    3. Does not help LSU in 2007 as much when we beat Florida.

Honestly, who would you like to see LSU beat in Tiger Stadium in 2007?

    1. The Defending National Champs and # 1 Ranked Florida Gators.
    2. The Top 10 Florida Gators who got their butts beat by OSU.

The hair on back of my neck just stood up when I was thinking about the electricity in Tiger Stadium and the possibility of a #1 Florida coming to play.

I seem to remember a # 1 ranked Florida rolling into Tiger Stadium in 1997.

    Anyone remember that one? ;)

i know we are supposed to pull for the sec in bowl season, to show that we're the best conference. i can do that, with a couple of exceptions.
    - i can't pull for auburn, ever.
    - i can't pull for florida if it means that they will be the football and basketball national champs. i just can't do it. at this point i hope it is an entertaining game with the buckeyes pulling it out late.

The only other downside that comes to mind for a Florida win is that it may mean LSU ends up one spot lower in the final polls. My guess is that Ohio State will not drop below #2 or #3 even with a loss. But I agree the upside is more attractive.

That said, I will have trouble pulling for Florida although I will try.

I'm pulling for Fla. The SEC needs to be seen as a dominant conference. Otherwise the west coast and mid west bias is validated. The SEC needs to win whenever it can. We got our championship in 03, I hope Fla. gets their's. I'd rather play the defending nat. champs in Baton Rouge in 07 than just a top 10 team.

The conference prestige thing is entirely overblown. Go OSU.

UF fans are the most arrogant pieces of garbage this side of South Bend.

If Florida were to line up against the all mighty minions of hell and my eternal salvation hung in the balance. I'd pack for warm weather and root against the gayturds.

I hate Florida with a passion, but double that, and you have my hatred for the Big 11. So, I gotta go with UF.
