I know that we get all the tough games at home, but next year's schedule really worries me.

    TENTATIVE 2007 LSU FOOTBALL SCHEDULE

Sept. 1 Middle Tenn. State 99%- win

Sept. 8 Virginia Tech 52%- tossup; There coach is better than ours. Will play solid defense and special teams.

Sept. 15 at Mississippi State 92%- win; but you never know. They are developing a pretty good defense. If they can develop their offense, they could beat us if they have a good day and we have a bad day

Sept. 22 South Carolina 68%- likely win - There coach is better than ours; This could be the year that they develop into legitimate contenders in the SEC and if they could win this game it would put them on the map

Sept. 29 at Tulane 99%- win - but you never know who they will get as a coach they might get better if they could get some offensive genius like they had with Rodriguez

Oct. 6 Florida 52%- tossup; They have a better coach than ours; They seem to be getting better progressively under Meyer; Tebow can't seemed to be stopped as a runner for some reason, if he learns to throw more than a lob pass we could be in trouble

Oct. 13 at Kentucky 82%- probable win - Not your big brother's Kentucky team; they seemed to come on this season; if they continue to improve they could possibly upset us

Oct. 20 Auburn 58%- tossup - They have a better coach than ours; This always such a battle; they have comparable talent but a small step down from us; I like that we are playing them at home and later in the year

    Oct. 27 Open

Nov. 3 at Alabama 67%- likely win; Who knows who there coach will be; They have enough talent to beat us, but luckily they have had the sanctions and poor coaching under Shula keeping them down; with the right coach (a Saban-type) they could become immediate contenders; with the wrong coach they become an even more likely win; I hope they choose an "Alabama" guy someone who played for the Bear that is a great gift to LSU when they limit the potential pool of candidates like that

Nov. 10 Louisiana Tech 99%- win

Nov. 17 at Ole Miss 82%- probable win - They might be building into a middle of the road SEC team that could beat us on the right day

Nov. 23 Arkansas 65%- likely win -They have a better coach than ours; they always do more with less, not to the extent of Spurier but still impressive; I think they have McFadden and Jones back so they will only get better; if they can develop a passing game or get more talent on defense, we could be in trouble

    Worst case scenario: 6-7
    Best case scenario: 14-0
Most realistic scenario:3 losses in the regular season

It all depends on a number of factors: Does Jamarcus return and develop the rest of his game to fulfill expectations? Does the special teams coaching improve? Do we still have running back by committee of 5...000? Does Auburn have a great running back and does Cox have a senior season like some recent Auburn quarterbacks have had? How good will Va Tech's offense be? Does FL become one dimensional on offense under Tebow? Does Alabama get a great coach? Does the Spurrier genius get SC to the next level? Do our corners continue to ever so slowly regress as the Saban tutelage fades? Do we learn how to adequately run block to LSU standards? Was KY a one year wonder? Does Arkansas get better? Do we get the Tiger magic (Russell seems to have it.)? Does Ole Miss take a step up?

I could not disagree more with you. LSU has a great shot at going undefeated in the regular season. An 11-1 season is a real possibility. At 10-2 season will be acceptable but disappointing. A 9-3 season will not be acceptable. I also disagree with your comments about so many of our opponent's coaches being better than Miles. In his first two years at LSU Miles is 20-4 in the regular season.

Based on this analysis Les Miles should be coaching 8th grade blind kids. He is not a bad coach and Houston Nutt is...I cant finish this.

You can't judge a coach just with wins and losses. You have to look at how well coached they actually are. Though LSU has played games against teams with as much talent they have never had to play against a more talented team under Miles thanks to Saban's recruiting legacy. Miles is not horrible but he is not better than an average SEC coach. I credit him with hiring an excellent defensive coordinator (the side of the ball he doesn't coach)

Great coaches can have mediocre to pretty good records for a while; bad coaches and especially average coaches can win national championships. Why? Talent. What Miles has been able to do so far is to keep Saban's recruiting momentum going with only a slight regression and to hire an excellent defensive coordinator. He is just an average offensive coach and the special teams coaching leaves something to be desired.

If you disagree about judging coaches on the win-loss record as the primary criteria (especially in the first two years), imagine if Bill Belichik went to coach Tulane. We would still beat them 8 times out of 10 because of the talent disparity. Look at the difference between what Coker did in his first two seasons with Davis' talent and what he became the longer he ran the program. Look at how much better LSU was able to get under Saban than what they had been. Talent usually trumps coaching. Coaching usually wins when the talent is comparable (Auburn, Meyer's FL, etc)

Are you drunk? To say that Beamer, Tubbs, and Nutt are better coaches than Miles is stupid. I know Miles ain't the sharpest knife in the drawer, but them three make the 3 stooges look like college professors.

Check his other posts.........this guy likes to stir the pot. Granted, each is entitled to their opinion but not only questionable points, also terrible time to bring up that kind of debate when everyone is on a high with the Rose Bowl invitation looming on the horizon.

Don't let anyone rain on our parade! And next year, we're making a run at the NC..... I say we're bringing it back to Baton Rouge again. :thumb:

max (by the way genius, it's their coach is better than ours, not there coach) is a sh!t stirrer, that's all.

I am amused that an adult who cannot even master basic spelling is going to criticize anybody about anything.

Max has zero credibility with me. I have yet to see a post of his that warranted intelligent discussion. I suspect he's a "special" type, if you get my drift.
