When things are good the bad stories get swept under the rug. There was an article in the Picayune on Dinardo. He mentioned that when times were good you didn't hear of players getting into trouble. When things started going bad, even minor things were in the paper every week. It wasn't that there was less off-field problems when tiems were good, it was it didn't get any publicity.
when media/fans want to get rid of a coach this is a very effective way to put pressure on an administration...by airing dirty laundry.
Same thing with Zook over at Florida, that incident had happened a couple weeks earlier but didn't get brought up until he lost to LSU.
