Why do we want Tennessee in the CG?

I'm looking at the projected SOS, and Tennessee projected SOS is going to be a lot lower than Georgia's. And as far as QW's go, if we beat Tennessee, there's no way they stay in the BCS Top 10.

There is a possibilty that if we didn't play Georgia, we could get quality wins from that, but unfortunantly the only way to get Tennessee in the Championship game is for either Georgia to lose one more game or have Florida somehow catch them in the BCS rankings. So, If we face Tennessee in the CG it will be because Georgia's quality wins will no longer be a factor.

Florida would be our ideal opponent probably, but I'm not seeing any way Florida can get in.

The ideal situation would be for LSU, Florida and Georgia to win out and Tenn lose. We would get Florida in the SECCG and Georgia would finish around #6 in the BCS.

We would get QW points for Georgia and benefit from Florida's SOS.

But, I don't see Tenn losing to MSU, UK or Vandy...

What do mean we'd be out of the top 10!? If we win out either way we're gonna be 2 or 3 (mainly cos Ohio State will lose to Purdue or Michigan). Anyways, they said that if it's a 3-way tie then they said they are gonna vote in the team with the highest BCS ranking. In this case yeah it's gonna be Tennessee because they are 7, two spots ahead of Georgia. But if Georgia loses to Auburn... then it'll be a tie-breaker between UF/and UT... in which case Tennessee would go because they beat UF head to head.... hmmm... I guess it'll be a sea of orange for the SECCG then huh?

I tell you what though... one of these days Kentucky is gonna win the game. The Tennessee/Kentucky game will be interesting. It will be Lorenzen's last chance to actually win a big game at home. Will the "Curse of Commonwealth" strike again?????

He was saying that UGA would not be in the Top-10, and we wouldnt get BCS QW points. Also, remember, UGA beat the snot out of UT- if they finish within 5 spots of each other in the BCS, UGA goes to Atlanta.

Florida will get in if Tennessee loses one of three remaining conference games and Florida wins against South Carolina.

Tennessee wins if Georgia loses to either Auburn or Kentucky and Tennessee wins out.

Georgia wins if they beat Auburn, Kentucky and Georgia Tech and Tennessee wins out.

If all three teams win out, I doubt that Florida can catch anyone with having three losses.

Yeah, we could root very hard for Kentucky against Tennessee I guess so we could get Florida.

Is anyone else worried that if we get Tennessee in the CG that they will be hungry for payback for 2001? Just a thought.

At least with Florida we would be the ones with the payback mentality. With Georgia and Tennessee it would go to the other team. GO Wildcats!! :)

I don't care how hungry Tennessee will be for payback. If we bring our 'A' game... they won't be able to contain us.

If we meet Florida in the SECCG and win won't that hurt or SOS since we played them already? I would say Tennessee would prolly be the best bet simply because we haven't played them yet and if we do it will help our SOS a lot.....as long as they continue to do well.......
