Congratulations to JV for his MVP trophy. He had a few runs where he showed flashes of greatness. I said earlier in the year, that if Saban stayed at LSU for a few more years that JV would win a Heisman and I still believe it.

However, my co-MVP's for the Sugar Bowl are Marcus Spears and Marquis Hill. They were dominate and disrupted the OU offense all night. Spears INT sealed the game. But it is also hard to leave out the DB's, esp Travis Daniels, since they were all absolutely amazing. This defense is incredible.

I would have loved for the entire defense to be named MVP even though I know that couldn't happen. Wow.

If I had to pick a player on defense to be the MVP, it would probably be Spears because of the INT. However, this defense plays as a team, and every player on defense (including back ups like Melvin Oliver and Kirston Pittman) made big plays. I can't think of a single player on defense that did not make a significant contribution in this game.

I thought that Spears, Hill and Travis Daniels increased their draft status the most, but everyone already knew about Corey Webster.

JV had a great game--his long run to start the game really put a dagger in OU's defense from the start.

But, like most of you, the play of the defense--specifically Spears, REALLY was impressive! I'd like to know how many takles and sacks Spears had, the number of pressures he accounted for on Jason White, and his INT for a TD was a thing of beauty!!!

Co-MVPS, IMO are : Justin Vincent on offense and Spears on defense.

I really thought they were going to give it to the entire D. How could you single out just one. Hill, Spears and Lavalais were great in the trenches but WOW how can you cover like that while blitzing so many!!!! Turner made some big plays also. I really thought it was a no brainer to vote the whole deffense but I guess the media needs one person to pick up the trophy and give a speech. Nothing against Vincents effort I just think the D earned MVP.

please pardon me for not knowing the names, but who was the CB that used to be a safety. He played an outstanding game. He would have been my MVP, him or Mauck.
