    MAIN EVENT

    CLM vs. CNS

45 min. in the square circle.

    Lets get it on!

Just joking how do you think CLM will do in his first year compared to CNS in his first year?

I will be the first to say that CLM will have a better record in his first year then Saban did. I think he has more talent to work w/then Saban had in his first year. What was Saban’s record in his first year as coach of LSU.

8-4, and we won the Peach Bowl.

I say Miles goes 10-1 or 9-2 this season and we either go to the Sugar Bowl, or the Cap One again.

Why 10-1 or 9-2?? Because, statistically, even when the schedules seem "favorable", there's always something that happens (and I'm saying that in terms of ALL teams, not just LSU). People don't realize how hard it is to go undefeated....Unless, of course, you play in the PAC-10. :hihi:

That’s big expectations for a first year coach and a fairly green QB. I sure hope so though.

My reasoning behind such a good finish is, in large part, due to the amount of talent we have returning and the fact that our traditional "tough opponents" will be traveling to Tiger Stadium this season.

In all fairness to Miles, I think another New Year's Day Bowl--whichever it may be (BCS, Cap One, or Cotton), would be a HUGE year.

I think we have the talent to compete for the SEC--but don't misunderstand me, I'm NOT "expecting" to win the SEC.

All I'm "expecting" is for us to be competitive in all of our games, and stay near the top of the West standings. Well, that and play in a bowl game better than the Independence Bowl. :)

Let's see: Les was a college lineman (I think) and Nick a HS QB and college DB.

Plus, you can tell Les still hits the weights. Dude has some traps on him!

Les in...oh, ten punches or less.

Look no further than Larry Coker's first year at Miami, my friend, a year in which the Canes won it all.

Both that Miami team and this LSU team is fairly young and loaded with talent. Sure, Coker was a member of the prior staff and was elevated to HC, but with Jimbo staying as OC, the most vital coaching position for this team, given the QB situation, remains the same.

It'll be tough, but LSU has just dominated people at home in recent years and all the tough games, save for perhaps Alabama, are at home.

I don't see any reason why LSU won't have a great season (13-0, or 12-1, etc)... and my reasoning is this:

CLM is a likeable guy. Our seemingly endless talent on the offensive side will have a field day scoring points for him. Whereas CNS was an "all work and.." sort of guy. Now, I'm not trying to start anything here, but I truly think that our players will rather work harder for CLM. Saban's success probably came because he pushed the guys hard. Who knows? If we get a decent DC in here, for instance Campo, we have enough talent and good enough coaching to win the SEC. With our talent ALONE, there is NO excuse for us not to represent the West in Atlanta... just my take on the thing ;)
