Board is slow so I was thinking who was the greatest Tiger athlete of all time? I have to say Pete Maravich, Billy Cannon, Shaq, Bert Jones, and Dalton Hilliard were great. Can anyone think of any others?

I think that you have to include Michael Clayton. He came in and started as atrue freshman, was a headhunter on ST. and was able to contribute on defense.

When Billy Cannon was at LSU, he was described as "either the strongest sprinter or the fastest shotputter in the nation". With track credentials like that, in addition to his football resume', I think I'd have to give him the nod.

It depends on how you define "best athlete." Do you mean best as in most successful, or best as in most pure athletic ability?

Although he has not been very good on the football field yet, Xavier Carter has to be one of the best pure athletes at LSU in a long time.
