Every year it seems some unheralded tiger steps up and makes himself into a star. Who will be LSU's breakout star player in 2013?

    I'm betting on Ego.

Barrow on defense, Blue on O.

While not unheralded Freak is due to have a break out season. LSU needs him to have a break out season. Maybe a less heralded player would be Danielle Hunter. DE is certainly a place where a newcomer can make an immediate impact and he has the speed that Chief likes there.

Based on the draft pundits I've been reading, of just our players eligible for the 2014 Draft, only three LSU players got mentioned as having a chance of going 1st R, with junior Freak by far considered our best chance (about half thought he'd be a 1st rounder), and with seniors Loston and Mett having an outside shot

so I'd like to see Freak and Loston blow up a la Glenn Dorsey and Craig Steltz, and Mett do his best Tommy Hodson impersonation

Of our other draft eligible players i haven't seen getting heralded as potential 1st Rounders yet...

Blue is a senior that could blow up and be like Harvey Williams

Hilliard is a junior that has flashed All-American potential (remember the Auburn game?)

Magee is a junior and i wouldn't count him out

Copeland is a senior who is was an All-American last year and will be one of the top FBs taken in the draft

On the OL, we have senior Williford and junior Collins. Collins isn't among the 6 SEC O-lineman getting 1st Round buzz (the guy from aTm, the two returning guys for Bama, and the guys from Miss State, Tennessee, and Florida), but i bet everybody has him going first 4 rounds and he could easily blow up and be a 1st Rounder and All-American. And if Steen from Bama is getting 1st R buzz, Williford (who was injured) could blow up and do the same

OBJ and Landry are juniors that could start flashing a lot more of the brillance they have shown glimpses of, but i wouldn't be surprised to see one of the newcomers be our best WR (Travin Dural?)

On the DL: Ego, Rasco, Allen, Maclin are all juniors that could come up big alongside Freak

At LB, Barrow is a senior who could be All-SEC and senior Tahj Jones is pretty good and i would love to see junior D.J. Welter dominate like he did in high school, and Barrow has been talking good about him

At DB, besides senior Loston, Ronald Martin is a junior and he was a freak of nature in high school at the 2A level

as for our freshmen and sophomores, there are so many guys, i don't think the question with them is who will be a star, but how many of them are going to be stars. It's really going to be fun to watch them over the next couple yesrs

I'm going with Freak on defense to have a true breakout season and be a dominant force, propelling him into a high 2014 draft pick

Going with Hilliard on offense, I've read where he's in great shape (hope it's true!)....everyone is talking about Hill and Blue, just think he's gonna be sneaky really good this year.

Our kicking game is scaring me though....too many new faces.

Jarvis Landry on offense given the new OC and hopefully rejuvenated passing game. And, I like the choice of Barrow on defense. Should be a tackling machine this year.

I am going to say Mett on O. He has got a lot of proving to do and I believe under Cam he will shine. This is his year to make $$$ and I believe that Loston will be the DB leader and show he is worthy of being a first rounder. Freak and Ego could be the best duo of lineman we have had in a while. Great time to be a TIGER!
