Who do you view as the greatest threat to the U.S today? While we have many enemies, I have to go with China. From the amount of money we owe them in loans and treasury notes, dumping the T-bills would lead to economic ruin an quite possibly war. Then there's their billion man Army getting stronger by the day. Not to mention, they're using the real estate that they own in the US to set up front companies strictly for industrial, computer, and military espionage (see link below). I believe that after the Olympics, they will make their move to re-annex Taiwan and dare us to do anything about it. We will be stretched so thin across other theaters, mainly Iraq and Afghanistan, that we will be unable to do much besides diplomacy. They wouldn't think of doing it before the Olympics later this year because that is when they intend to show the world that they are indeed a true Super Power.

I just don't like the advantage they have over us in several key strategic areas and I don't trust them at all.

Monetary policy, govt. influence in our economy, foreign policy that contributes to both, and non conservative fiscal responsibility.

    9 Trillion in debt....

    The end.

A China-Russia alliance is our worst nightmare. We have to keep these aspiring superpowers apart.

I think Rex is all over this one.

    N. Korea is a threat only in the terms of if “you don’t feed me I am going to throw a tantrum”. That’s their M.O., Is playing with warheads is to get the planet to concede and send the rice! They will NEVER, EVER see it our way yet they want it our way. They want rice, fuel, toys, and some cheap sunglasses, and their manner in being lazy and not doing it themselves is to point a pistol, put the world into scare mode, wait for the human rights picture to take frame and there comes pretty white ships loaded with humanitarian relief. It repeats itself every couple of years. I predict the same scenario for this next winter.

Al Qaeda is busy in the Middle East on the play ground we provided for them. Our position is to keep the fight in the mid. east and off our borders. We are not dummy proof but much safer then 7 years ago.

Agreed on the alliance but I also believe China's catching up with it's infrastructure, it's environmental needs and so on are weakening their military. They need our bonds to maintain so much as a military. I believe China needs us more then we need them. However long that last and that depending on our new foreign policy for next year.

Russia is still trying to turn into the frozen Hollywood. I believe Moscow is now the number one or two most expensive city on the planet to live in. They are not far off from their dream. They just have to stay unified to get there. Check Point Charlie is now a museum and Brandenburg (SP) Gate has the horses turned back around!

We are our own worst nightmare. If the dollar keeps going in the dirt and we keep going into debt it doesn't matter who has an alliance with who because we won't be a financial or military power anymore.

What comes first the chicken or the egg?
