Does anyone know of any places in BTR that are in need of volunteers this afternoon and weekend? Apparently, the PMAC needs medical/first aid assistance, which I am no longer qualified to do. Thanks.
This is from an email I have received at the office. ______________________________________________ Hi Everyone, I wanted to let everyone know about the needs of Catholic Community Services located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. They have received children under the age of 5 and as young as 2 months old coming from the New Orleans area. They either have parents who are now deceased or unable to be located. They need supplies for these children such as diapers, bottles, socks, underwear, t-shirts, shorts, anything you can provide even animal crackers. I personally am involved with this agency; they are a wonderful group of individuals who have the facilities to care for the children but currently do not have the supplies. Monetary donations are accepted as well. If you would like to UPS the supplies to them or contact them concerning their efforts the following is their address and their number. CCCS - Catholic Community Center Maternity and Adoption Counseling 1900 S. Acadian Thruway Baton Rouge, LA 70807 (225) 336-8708 or (800) 227-3002 Please forward this to as many as you can. These children have no one and I personally will be volunteering this weekend to help care for them. Thank you, xxxxxx
Yea, the PMac is actually turning away volunteers that don't have medical qualifications right now. I guess it's so bad in there that if you can't help medically, your just using up very precious space.
