I just got tickets and want to go Friday. Any good suggestions for where we should get a room? I wonder where the team is staying? Anyone? Anyone? Buehler? Buehler?:)

Hey,if you have google earth, click on the lodging icon and it will show you hotels, phone numbers for the hotels and you can see everything around the hotel to help you make a decision.I never stay in N.O. because I live in baton rouge so I can't recomend a hotel.By the way where did you score your tickets from?I was thinking about taking my family to the game(I have a 3 year old girl that has been dying to go to a LSU football game but it's been too hot in tiger stadium to bring her),and was looking for 4 tickets together myself?

You can still get tickets from LSUSports.net. I'm pretty sure they will still have some together. But you should check.

Thanks for the info.I refuse to pay anywhere near face value for tulane tickets.I'm probably going to just drive down there and people will be giving them away.

    http://www.baronneplaza.com/

We stayed at the Baronne Plaza for the Sugar Bowl, seemed to be a decent palce and the rate was relatively inexpensive.

You should check for something on or near Poydras. This should give you a fairly easy walk to the Dome or the Quarter. I got some rooms at http://www.thelafayettehotel.com/
Just off Poydras on St. Charles. I don't know what it's like but it looks nice and they still have rooms for under $100.

I walk pass the Lafayette Hotel everyday going to work. It is a very nice hotel.

If your looking for a high end meal they have a nice place called Anatole's in the hotel. Also across the street is another highend restaurant called Herbsaint. Both very good.

But if you want a good burger after the game at the corner of Julia and Carondelet is a place called Ditcharo's. It's one block over from your hotel.

The Hyatt is right next to the dome. I've stayed there for many a Saint's game. Was even there the day before Katrina hit (when to the Saints / Baltimore game on Friday evening). I think Katrina blew all the windows out. It is somewhat remote from the Quarter and other places and the night action is limited but you can't beat the location to the dome.
